Now, we’re going to show you the fish per gallon process. The only difference is, to make it more convenient, we’re calculating it into liters. As you know, 1 US gallon is equivalent to 4 liters (approximately). And in this calculation, the adult size of the fish is always considered as the growth is limited to this age.

Considering 1 Inch Per Gallon (4 Liters)

Here, one can use the length of a 1-inch fish as the measurement per 4 liters of water the tank holds. As an adult Angelfish generally have a length of up to 12 inches, which means it’s the possible highest length for the Angelfish and the calculation will be based on it. 

Now, according to the rule, for a 1-inch length, the amount of water is approximately 4 liters. Therefore, for 1 adult Angelfish or 12 inches the water amount will be (12×4) or 48 liters. And don’t forget to add 10 gallons or 38 liters of extra water if there are any rocks, woods, gravel, decor, plants, etc. 

That means in (48+38) or 86 liters, one can have 1 adult Angelfish. Now considering the reaming 14 liters space of the 100-liter tank and the extra amount of added water, you’re allowed to add only 1 more Angelfish. So, the total amount of Angelfish is 2 as we’ve already mentioned in the beginning. 

NOTE: There’s another alternative method of this 1 inch per gallon or 4 liters method and that’s 1 inch per 2 gallons or 8 liters method. It’s almost similar to the previous one. Here, you just have to consider 8 liters of water for 1 inch of length and don’t need to add the extra 38 liters of water. This way you can ensure fresh and quality water for the fish without changing it frequently. But we recommend the previous method as this method isn’t eligible for a 100-liter tank. You should have at least a 200-liter tank for this.
